Salty Mermaid is a renovated top-floor 2BR/2BA with two cozy balconies and more natural light than most at Ocean Pointe! King suite, queen-and-twin bunk room, two en-suite baths and a 65" TV for the rare rainy day. Out the door: a gated resort with a pool, hot tub, tennis, pickleball, beach and marina!

CHECKING IN Self check-in with your own door code, sent before you arrive. The front gate is staffed 24/7; just give the guard the name on the reservation and you're in! Parking for 2 vehicles is included. Boats and trailers only with a confirmed dockmaster reservation.

POOL BAR: The resort's pool bar and waterfront cafe are temporarily closed as of October 2026. Plenty of great restaurants and waterfront bars in Key Largo and Islamorada are just a short drive away, and we're happy to share our favorites!

Ocean Pointe is a gated, 60+ acre waterfront resort in Tavernier at mile marker 92.5, smack in the middle of Key Largo and Islamorada. Best of both worlds!

Just up the road: John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, the country's first undersea park, with world-class snorkeling and diving. Just down the road: Islamorada, the Sportfishing Capital of the World, plus sandbars, waterfront restaurants and plenty of happy hours. Nearby favorites include Theater of the Sea, the History of Diving Museum, Robbie's (go feed the tarpon!), the Laura Quinn Wild Bird Sanctuary and the Turtle Hospital. Harry Harris Park, with a waterfront walk and playground, is right around the corner. Grocery stores and pharmacies are minutes away.

Good to know: the Keys are coral islands, so our beaches are cozy, not Cancún. The real magic is on the water! The closest larger public beach is Anne's Beach in Islamorada.

And don't leave without a slice of key lime pie. That's basically a house rule!

We enjoy our stay very much, the condo was very roomy and the balcony was great with the water views to enjoy your drinks.. very peaceful and relaxing and the restaurants were just miles away to go out to eat , but if you wanted to stay and cook your meal everything needed was there in the kitchen. great location to explore all aspects of the keys!!! Got to enjoy a kayaking, off shore and so this location was great for us.. We will definitely be staying there again!! We had an excellent stay at The Salty Mermaid in Tavernier, Florida. The unit was extremely clean, well-kept, and very comfortable throughout our visit. The amenities were outstanding — the pool area and pickleball courts were meticulously maintained and added a lot to the overall experience. Great location for exploring the Keys. 2 hours to Key West. Short drive to Key Largo. Very quiet and comfortable. The views are unmatched. Plenty of space for two adults. Had all the necessities of home—well stocked kitchen, king bed,toiletries, plenty of towels, washer and dryer, lots of hangers! Even a Keurig. Resort had great amenities-pool, hot tub, small beach, restaurant, and marina. Beach was less busy than pool and very relaxing. Would highly recommend and would stay again. Sean was easy extremely responsive and gave us all the details for check in and check out. His binder of information in the unit was very helpful. Wonderful host.

The property was great, the pool and pool bar/grill were excellent as well as the on site restaurant. There seemed to be a lot of confusion if there was a restaurant or not. The property was walkable and the water view from this room is incredible. The living room space was comfortable and just as pictured, thank you for the throw blankets on the couches. We only stayed for 3 nights but I could see being here for a week and being happy. Everything that was listed as included was there, we would have loved it if some coffee was included but definitely not a negative as grocery shopping was close by.

We had a great 4 night stay at the Salty Mermaid with 4 adults and a toddler. Sean was responsive to questions and sent very detailed and helpful information about check in and what was and was not available at the condo beforehand. The location was perfect for us with many parks, beaches, activities, restaurants and groceries within a 20 minute drive. Everything was super clean and well maintained. If you are traveling with small children you’ll want to bring some toys or activities to keep them entertained. Would definitely recommend and stay again in the future!

We thought the condo was great - the decor was cute, the place was very clean and updated, and the views from the teeny balconies were beautiful! The location in the Keys is good if you plan to mostly be in Key Largo area. Otherwise, we felt pretty removed from some of the middle and lower keys beaches/activities we were interested in. The unit is close to the pool, which is a nice plus. You could occasionally hear neighboring units watching TV at night but otherwise felt the property was pretty quiet. While we liked the unit itself, we were very disappointed to discover that the Ocean Pointe facility allows smoking in public spaces. This was not communicated in the Airbnb listing as I feel it should have been. Each time we were at the pool, other guests were smoking cigarettes, cigars, and vaping both in and around the pool area ... not super family-friendly in our opinion as the listing suggests. I hope the owners update the listing to make this more clear for future guests.

It was also very clean. The pool was bigger than we expected. The beach and docks for fishing was a short walk. We had a wonderful stay at Sean's place. The campus where the condo is located is very clean, quiet and safe. The condo was recently renovated and was so comfortable for my wife and me. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Easily could have had another two people in the unit. Communication was excellent and check in was a breeze. Easy to walk from the Ocean Pointe campus to sidewalks that follow US 1. We spent a few days at the beach area on campus and attended the happy hour at the Island Grill that is there. We definitely look forward to staying here again!
